I'm a science nerd, a hobby collector, a chronic critic of research methods and societal systems, and am passionate about well-seasoned food.
I grew up in a small town in Labrador and bounced around the East Coast before landing in Northern BC. I spent just over two years as the sole dietitian in a small town, supporting clients with a wide range of things from swallowing difficulties and diabetes, to food allergies and gut issues. Across nearly all clients dieting, restriction, old nutrition advice or body image struggles played some role in their eating. From this, I gained a deep appreciation for the clients I stood with as they found a new route to health.
I am continuously learning - from clients, from other dietitians and health care colleagues, podcasts and books, and my own counsellor. I am always curious about new guidelines, new research, and new experiences.
I believe in eating for your soul, treating your body with kindness, and questioning the nutrition 'rules' we've been taught.
