I'm a science nerd, a hobby collector, a critic of research and societal systems, and am passionate about well-seasoned food.
I grew up in a small town in Labrador and bounced around the East Coast before landing in Northern BC. I spent just over two years as the sole dietitian in a small town, supporting clients with a wide range of things from swallowing difficulties and diabetes, to tube feeding and balancing good food with a busy life. Across nearly all clients, dieting, restriction, old nutrition advice or body image struggles played some role in their eating. From this, I gained a deep appreciation for the clients I worked with to improve health without falling into the diet trap.
I am continuously learning - from clients, other dietitians and health care colleagues, and enjoy podcasts and books. I am always curious about new guidelines, new research, and new experiences.
I believe in eating for your soul, treating your body with kindness, and questioning the nutrition 'rules' we've been taught.
